Alkaline refractories mainly refer to refractories with light burned magnesia balls and light burned magnesia powder, which have strong corrosion resistance to alkaline slag.
The commonly used is the magnesium ball. The magnesia ball containing more than 80% to 85% of Magnesium Oxide has good resistance to alkaline slag and iron slag, and its refractoriness is higher than clay brick and silica brick. It is mainly used for open hearth, oxygen converter, electric furnace, non-ferrous metal smelting equipment and some high temperature equipment.
